Hello, World — Introducing tatlacas

We're tatlacas — a software product company based in Cape Town, South Africa. We build products that solve real problems. Not abstract enterprise solutions, not another SaaS dashboard. Real tools for real people. ## What we're building **TradeKit** — A WhatsApp-native business tool for South African tradespeople. Electricians, plumbers, solar installers — people who run businesses from their phones. We meet them where they already are: WhatsApp. **Fompiler** — An architecture platform for Flutter. Define your architecture once, generate consistent, production-ready code. We're opinionated about how Flutter apps should be built, and Fompiler enforces those opinions. **Flora** — Our collection of open-source Flutter and Dart packages. Everything we build gets dogfooded in our own products first. ## How we work We're two technical co-founders who write code every day. Every repo has a CLAUDE.md file. We use AI as a core part of our workflow — not as a gimmick, but as a genuine collaborator in architecture, implementation, and code review. Our stack: Go for backends, Flutter for mobile, Next.js for web. We own the full stack, from database to mobile app. ## Why we blog We'll share what we learn — Flutter architecture patterns, Go backend design, AI-first development workflows, and the realities of building a software company in South Africa.
